When Len-Lien looks in the mirror, she sees someone different. The tattoo curves around her forehead, hugging close in on itself at her neck, cups her newly forming breasts. She can't see her hips and her legs in the mirror, but she can see them when she looks down, has already traced them into memory with her hands. There's nothing special about her tattoo except that it's hers. She presses a hand against her belly where the point sits right below her navel, closing her eyes.
She feels she has shed her cocoon; she's ready to fly.
