When Oki takes the sword, makes the elders quake, he is sure. This was what he was born for, this is his purpose - destiny. He can save them all. He'll push back the darkness - push back the demons encroaching on their borders. Doubt isn't present in his mind even for an instant. The blade will glow silver, and as he leads, the village will follow, all doubts melted away as the frigid snows under sun's warmth.
Doubt comes on soft paws with shining white coat, wreathed in divine flame. Doubt comes in the form of the sun itself.
