"So, these things have a story?" Young asks, stretching out one filthy hand toward the patterns on Snievan's upper arm.
"Don't touch me," Snievan says, batting the offending hand away with his lower one.
Young gives him that awful smile. His breath reeks of ale, nearly smothering the underlying metallic tang of blood that always attends him. "Always so fussy," he says. "Just figured there must be something to them, for you to mess up that white pelt you're so proud of."
"I'm not sharing the story with you," Snievan snaps.
"Whatever." Young shrugs. "They're pretty."
Snievan's ears pin. "Thank you," he says.
